You'll rush to cell phone recycle when you discover it's one of the best conversation starters at any social gathering. Here you'll peruse- what's all the talk about?
Growing up in a rural area, Sarah J. always loved the outdoors. That wasn't much to talk about with her city friends.
Although, having a very pleasing personality and good looks, she seemed to be tongue tied far too often at many get-togethers. This was until she picked up some new information about what's happening in our world.
Tired of the same old shopping and celebrity gossip chit chat she'd been accustomed to, Sarah became interested in more meaningful topics regarding the environment.
This new interest was sparked from watching a broadcast about the massive build up of e waste being shipped off to foreign countries which was poisoning the inhabitants.
Helping the environment by cell phone recycling
At a recent get-together with some friends she started the conversation about how 70% of all end-of-life electronics, around the globe, ended up in China. There impoverished workers melt away plastics to reclaim small amounts of precious metals for their bosses.
The conversation sprang to life with her as the center of attention. One of her friends mentioned how quickly new electronics became outdated, as if on purpose. The conversation quickly ventured into how most of these cell phones and used electronics were just thrown out with the trash and ended up in landfills.
The chat skipped to the toxic substances contained in electronics being leached into our earth. Thus the need for everyone to help the environment by recycling.
How to be clean and green?
Soon, she was looked up to for suggestions of what should be done. She embraced this with fervor and began explaining the simple method she was using to reduce, reuse and recycle everything possible.
She covered how she thought ahead for each day. Was there a way to carpool, or bring her own grocery bags, or her own coffee cup from home, etc.? Her methods were all so simple, yet usually overlooked.
What's in a cell phones?
As her and her friends responded to their own regular interrupting text messages, the topic switched back to cell phones. She then began to highlight what toxins are in a cell phone:
Cell Phone LCD Screens:
Cell Phone Batteries:
Cell Phone Microchips:
Cell Phone Circuit Boards:
Cell Phone Circuit Board Precious Metals:
Of course, she wasn't that thorough, I added the specifics, but you get the point.
How to cell phone recycle?
