I Was Thrilled With The Green Cleaning Supplies I Discovered Online

When I noticed an appalling smell coming up from the basement, I was motivated to find a way to eliminate odors without using dangerous chemicals, which led me to look into green cleaning supplies. We had lived in the house for many years, and had never had any problems, but one day a pipe burst behind a wall. The pipe was not difficult to fix, but about a week after the whole ordeal, we noticed an awful damp, musty smell coming from the basement which drove us away from there.

We used some air fresheners and burned scented candles, but nothing seemed to do the trick. I was complaining to one of my coworkers about it one day when she told me the solution to my predicament was onions. I admit I looked at her doubtfully for a minute, but she promised that cutting an onion in half and putting the halves in the basement overnight would work.

By that point, I was willing to try anything, so I did as I was told and placed two halves of an onion in my basement overnight. In the morning, I got up and with my fingers crossed, I went down the stairs and took some cautious sniffs, and I was completely overjoyed to discover that the onion had worked and there was no more musty smell!

I was so thrilled with how perfectly the onion got rid of the smell, I decided I ought to look into some other green cleaning supplies, to see what other fantastic solutions nature had to offer. I hopped on the computer and did an online search to see what I could find, and I came across a website that had some really helpful tips and ideas for using things like lemon juice and old coffee grounds. This website even had several tips about how to use baking soda, which really surprised me.

These and other natural cleaning products eventually became basic staples of my home cleaning arsenal and I craved more and more uses of unusual products. I went right back to that same website and I was overjoyed to find more tips and ideas, and the best part was the satisfaction of knowing that I was doing my part to protect the environment. The basement odor never really came back, but on the few occasions that I thought I caught a whiff of something nasty, I was there, onion in hand, within just a few minutes!

It may be shocking, but green cleaning supplies like onions can be more than just for food, in fact they can be used to remove odors! Using onions in a unique way is merely the tip of the iceberg in terms of tips for environmentally friendly cleaning tools, which can all be found at this link.
